Las Vagas Hotels Suffer
The economy of Nevada depends heavily on las vagas hotels and the gambling revenue they produce. When the housing bubble was going strong due to the 1999 law forcing lenders to give out sub-prime loans, Las Vegas had a huge run-up in real estate sales with people moving there for high paying jobs and vacation homes. Typical of politicians, when times are good, they spent more than they had and assumed there would be an ever increasing stream of money coming in. Well the party is over and it is hard for the party capital of the world to accept.
