Make the most of your flowers and make them last
Receiving flowers when you are not expecting it, gives a really special feeling. I particularly like to send a christmas flower delivery because people are least expecting it with all of the other pressures of Christmas. To make the most of them, lets provide some tips on how to arrange them.
As soon as you receive your flowers, if you don’t have time to arrange them straight away then put them into a bowl or bucket of water as soon as possible and keep them away from any sources of heat such as a radiator for example.
When you are ready to make a beautiful arrangement, select a vase that is suitable for the number of flowers you have. Once you have opened up the bouquet, cut about 1 inch from the bottom of each stem at a slight angle, cut more off if you need to shorten them for your arrangement.
Start by placing some foliage around the sides of the vase then placing flowers evenly around, look at the space you are going to be filling with the arrangement as there is no point having flowers at the back of the display if you are not going to see them. Arrange the flowers at different heights to give it a fuller looking effect. It does take a little practise, but even if you got a cheap flower delivery then you can still make them look beautiful, and they should last for around two weeks.
