Organic Gardening Teaches Us How To Use Our Resources

With organic hydroponics gardening, the ground that the plant normally uses to draw its nutrients from is replaced by water. This water is enriched with foods that plants need to grow healthy. Also, since this hydroponic nutrient solution is contained, it does not harm our environment as does runoff from fertilized soil. Organic gardening is teaching us to use our resources.

One of the main functions of dirt and soil in normal gardening is to support the plant’s root system. In hydroponic gardening, this functionality of soil is generally replaced with crushed rock or gravel. Another function of soil, however, is to provide nutrients to the plant. Since plants cannot get nutrients from rock or gravel, In hydroponic gardening, an alternative method had to be devised. This consisted of feeding plants with a water solution that was rich in nutrients.
