Rocking out made easy with Guitar Hero 5

Rocking out with a guitar is always fun, but it’s more fun to get people to dance to the melody. Guitar Hero 5, the fifth installment of the ever popular Guitar Hero series adds more flavor and the melodies of the genre. For those of you who do not know what Guitar Hero 5 is, it is a rhythm based game which can be played on X-Box 360, PS3 and Nintendo Wii with a specially designed guitar controller (like the dance pad controller of the Dance Dance Revolution games).

Ever wonder how Guitar Hero is played? All you need is knowledge of at least a couple of songs in the game, a sense of music and rhythm, some patience and quick fingers to play the instrument. You need to match the notes that are displayed on the screen to earn some points; the game series also features real life guitar tricks like the hammer-on and pull offs. It may take some time to get used to, but you’ll definitely enjoy the rest of the game series and hopefully play your way all the way to Guitar Hero 5.

Though the pseudo-guitar doesn’t resemble or function similarly to that of a real guitar, you should know its features before playing the game. You can play a note by pushing or pulling the strum bar, however the combination of pressing the 5 fret buttons with the strum bar determines the real notes. Once you have connected your guitar controller to the console, you will find options such as Career, Quick Play, Multiplayer, Training, and Options. The real essence of Guitar Hero 5 and its series rely on the career game mode where you can play at least 35 different songs with 4 levels of difficulty. Completing each song helps you to accumulate cash and kudos. A Quick Game Play allows you to play 10 songs by default, while the gains that you get from the career game mode you can buy and unlock new songs.

To make a multiplayer session, you’ll need another guitar controller and multiplayer access. It is very important to consider the Tutorials before playing the game. You can also set a parameter to your preferred position on the options menu.

Do not be impatient. When you play Guitar Hero 5, choose the simplest songs first. You can increase your score multiplier if you’ve combined together at least 10 different notes. The use and number of the fret buttons are based on the difficulty of the game. You also have access to different techniques, Whammy Bar, Hammer on, pull and push. Do not be left out in the open, buy a Guitar Hero 5 now and rock on with your mates.
