Dastan Costumes – For The Hero In You
Anyone who is a movie buff or familiar with Disney would recognize Dastan as the dashing, muscular and acrobatic lead character in Dastan: Prince of Persia, but do you know what a Dastan really is?
Beyond the name of a movie character, Dastan is indeed a Persian word meaning story. It is a highly literate and descriptive oral historical account from Central Asia. A dastan will normally be focused on one particular individual who rises as the defender of his people or tribe; a leader; a warrior; a hero.
Such was the case with Dastan, Prince of Persia. First coming on the scene as a street orphan, Dastan performs a deed of valor which is seen by the King, who then adopts this young boy into his royal family. As in any good storyline, evil raises its ugly head and Dastan is the one charged with not only saving his people, but all of mankind from a possible Armageddon. It is no wonder that so many kids and even adults search for Dastan costumes when it comes time for Halloween or costume parties. After all, what boy or man doesn’t want to be a hero? Having a beautiful princess by your side makes it all even better.
