Quit Smoking Cigarettes With Quit Smoking Methods
It is no big secret that many people still smoke. However, you may not realize it, but nearly 80 percent of the human population does not smoke.
That at least gives you some idea of who still puffs on cigarettes, pipes and cigars. Regardless, the issue still remains that many people who do smoke want to quit. Many of them have already tried various methods to quit smoking, but none have worked so far. Although this certainly does not sound promising by any means, there are more and more programs and products coming out all the time that assist people with kicking the smoking habit. Obviously the key is finding one of the quit smoking methods that works for you.
Just to give you an idea, some of the common methods to quit smoking are the nicotine patch, the popular chewing gum, and various supplements offered today by licensed physicians. Needless to say, if you are interested in one of the more modern medications that can potentially help you quit smoking, you must go see your doctor in order to find out if these products are right for you.
To quit smoking cigarettes you should be using all the help you can get your hands on and can wrap your brain around. Here are some steps I took to quit smoking cigarettes, steps you, too, can take to one level or another:
The American Cancer Society offers free, thoughtful info on giving up the smoking habit. The pamphlets are written in serious terms and at the same time use gentle language. If you need the soft approach, so you don’t feel like a freak, the ACS might be for you.
There are plenty of books on quitting smoking, many informative, supportive, coaxing, humorous, brilliantly researched, and helpful.
There’s a book written by an MD offering info on how smokes are a dual drug unlike any other: they are, he says, upper and downers. When you’re nervous or agitated, you take long, slow drags and are tranquilized; when you’re tired, you take short quick puffs, and are energized.
