Correct sitting and typing posture
Many people have aching back due to the fact that they sit in front of their computer at work all day. This is a growing problem all over the world, but the steps you have to take to remedy back problems due to bad typing posture are not that many.
It starts with finding the correct posture while sitting on your office chair. When you slouch you put a lot of pressure on your lower back muscles, which have to take the whole load of your upper body weight. Sit up with a straight back, in a neutral position, so that both your back and front muscle divide the load between them. You should also have a good chair that give you back support.
Another important thing to do is break the static position your body is in by standing up and taking a short walk. Try to do this every hour or so, and get at least five minutes standing and walking.
Improving posture is important for people in all ages. By doing so you can prevent future issues with your back and neck, that can become more permanent. It really doesn’t take much effort, but it does take some conciseness to how you site and stand. Standing posture is just as important to get right as sitting posture.
Stand up with a straight back, shoulders pulled back and down, and your jaw held level. Try to keep a correct standing and sitting posture first for 10 minutes a day for a week, then increase to 30 minutes, and hour, and so on.
It is important that you try to stay relaxed and not strain yourself when finding correct postures. But, you will notice that keeping these postures will feel a bit strange, and might be tiring at first. Keep at it and your back and front muscles will adapt and the posture will be easy.
